Just like the Fortune 400, they need to ensure that data is backed up, retrievable and secure, and that data access complies with governmental regulations. Unfortunately, if you are a small business owner you also cope with some challenges the big guys don't have, budgets are small and your IT staff, if you even have one, may not have storage-specific expertise. Attend this webcast and learn storage strategies to meet your growing business demands. Register Now >
Internet Photonics Inc., a Shrewsbury, N.J.-based developer of first carrier-grade Optical Ethernet solutions with 10 Gigabit DWDM transport, said its new product line "brings the best carrier-grade attributes of SONET/SDH to Optical Ethernet."
The new products from Internet Photonics include the LightStack MXA, LightStack MX, and LightHandler PC. They combine carrier-grade Optical Ethernet with 10 Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) Metro Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) transport to deliver full SONET-lke OAM&P capability, along with the carrier-grade reliability and availability that until now have been missing from Ethernet-based solutions, officials said.
Their 10 Gigabit optics are compatible with OC-192c/STM64 clear channel systems for cost-effective integration with existing metro and long-haul solutions, extending the reach of Optical Ethernet to any distance.
The new Internet Photonics solutions run at the transport layer, which simplifies deployment and management while allowing the regulated in-region networks of incumbent carriers to offer reliable Ethernet private line service in the metropolitan area using native Ethernet line rates up to 1 Gbps. This contrasts sharply with the previous generation of packet-only Optical Ethernet solutions.
