Just like the Fortune 400, they need to ensure that data is backed up, retrievable and secure, and that data access complies with governmental regulations. Unfortunately, if you are a small business owner you also cope with some challenges the big guys don't have, budgets are small and your IT staff, if you even have one, may not have storage-specific expertise. Attend this webcast and learn storage strategies to meet your growing business demands.

Pluris Raises $53M in VC
February 21, 2002
By Optically Networked Staff

Pluris, a Cupertino, Calif.-based developer of scalable, fault-tolerant routers for the Internet core, said it has raised $53 million in the initial closing of its latest financing round.

JP Morgan Partners, ComVentures, and Crescendo Ventures co-led the round, which included participation from other existing investors. The company continues to pursue additional funding opportunities with new investors.

The company did not specifically say which round this was.

The funding will enable the company to further its research and development activities for its TeraPlex IP/MPLS core router, support ongoing and new customer lab and field trials, and expand marketing, sales, and support, officials said.

The company said it continues its trial work with Deutsche Telekom. It also initiated additional trials at two North American service providers last quarter.
