When it comes to storage, small and medium businesses have a lot in common with large enterprises. Just like the Fortune 400, they need to ensure that data is backed up, retrievable and secure, and that data access complies with governmental regulations. Unfortunately, if you are a small business owner you also cope with some challenges the big guys don't have, budgets are small and your IT staff, if you even have one, may not have storage-specific expertise. Attend this webcast and learn storage strategies to meet your growing business demands. Register Now >
Texas Instruments (Quote) (TI) today introduced the industry's highest gain bandwidth (1.6GHz) JFET amplifier from the company's Burr-Brown product line designed for optical networking, photodiode and data acquisition applications.
The device combines a high- precision voltage feedback amplifier with JFET-input technology to provide an enhanced dynamic range for wideband transimpedance applications or driving analog-to-digital converter (ADC) signals at high gains, officials said.
The OPA657 features 1.6GHz gain bandwidth, 4.8nV/rtHz input voltage noise, 5pA input bias current and 700V/us high slew rate. The device's JFET-input stage eliminates input bias current errors, while both the offset voltage and temperature drift are trimmed for exceptionally low values.
A unity-gain stable version, the OPA656, is also available and offers high bandwidth (230MHz GBW) and excellent DC precision for delivering high sensitivity and bandwidths for optical networking, photodiode-detection and ADC buffering applications. Other features of the OPA656 include 7nV/rtHz input voltage noise and 290V/us slew rate.
The OPA657 and OPA656 are available now in SOT23-5 and SO-8 packages. The OPA657 is priced at $6.35 in 1,000 piece quantities. The OPA656 is priced at $5.85 in 1,000 piece quantities. Both products are also available in DC screened versions to deliver the best in DC precision.
