OneAccess Raises $6M
February 7, 2002
By Bob Woods
OneAccess, a Fontenay aux Roses, France-based developer of broadband-access products for telecommunications firms and corporate networks, said it has raised EURO7 million (US$6.07 million) in its first round of funding, which was led by Viventures.
Other investors in the round included AGF Private Equity and CIC Finance, the company also said.
The funding will support OneAccess' market expansion, as well as the design and development of its next generation of products.
OneAccess currently designs, manufactures and markets multi-service, multi-protocol Integrated Access Devices (IADs). Its products integrate voice, data and video services delivered over Frame Relay, xDSL, Internet protocol and broadband access networks.
"Carriers must upgrade their existing access networks to deliver high-value services more efficiently and at lower cost," said Denis Behaghel, chief operating officer (COO) of OneAccess. "By meeting these requirements today together with our acquisition of technology and installed base of over 500 customers from CS Telecom, we are uniquely positioned to expand market share."
Founded in 2001 by executives from CS Telecom, the former French-owned telecom equipment maker, OneAccess' headquarters are close to Paris.
