Alloptic Inc., a provider of IP, Gigabit Ethernet fiber optic solutions for access networks, today announced an agreement with Central Texas Technologies, LP (CTT) to deliver Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) and Fiber-to-the-Business (FTTB) solutions into Central Texas.
CTT will deploy Alloptic's GigaForce product line, a series of G.E.A.R. (Gigabit Ethernet Access Routers) products, which delivers voice, data, and video at speeds up to 1.25 Gigabits using a passive optical network (PON) technology. The agreement will enable CTT's customers to access the Internet at speeds up to 300 times faster than DSL or cable modems.
The initial rollout for this program is CTT's newest development, Crystal Falls, a 4,000-acre development with homes residing on 1-8 acre lots in Leander, Texas. For both residential and business customers, CTT will be able to deliver a full range of Voice, RF Video and high-speed Internet services to include POTS, T1, 10/100BaseT, and interactive video through Alloptic's optical networking units.
Alloptic's GigaForce product family consists of Alloptic's Central Office Chassis (edgeGEAR), Fiber-to-the-Business Optical Network Units (ONUs) (bizGEAR), and the Fiber-to-the-Home ONU (homeGEAR).
