StockerYale Inc. (Quote), a provider of phase masks, specialty optical fiber, and specialized illumination products, announced the availability of what it believes to be the industry's most advanced Cladding Mode Suppression (CMS) fiber available today.
Used in the manufacture of fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs), this specially engineered fiber provides virtually total suppression of cladding modes making it ideal for broad-spectrum bandwidth DWDM applications and gain flattening filters, officials said.
According to a new market study from ElectroniCast Corp., the worldwide use of specialty optical fiber in telecommunication products will grow from $239 million in 2000 to $1.1 billion by 2005, StockerYale said.
